The once lush and quiet paths around the property - bolstered by the gift of winter’s unprecedented rain - have given way to the dry crunch of burrs and golden brush. In fact, the ground is so littered with burrs that Charlito’s paws and tail are packed full of them after just a short walk. How do the hearty, free-range dogs of Kingsbury Rd. manage, while Charles’ delicate pads seems to be a magnet? Will he be embarrassed if I get him these? Probably.
