Dear Reader...
You may have noticed (enjoyed😜) my silence of late, or maybe you’ve searched your inbox in vain for my latest briefing. Well friends, I have been suffering from a drought of inspiration. However, my atmospheric river of happiness is flowing once again as I write this missive from Hummingbird Ranch, nestled into the comfort of my faux-leather recliner - dog at my side - basking in the glow of my faux-flaming fireplace.
We had an easy drive today, stopping briefly at Bob's in Los Alamos to grab sandwiches. The weather was forecasted to be clear and sunny, but was actually quite cloudy and a bit rainy. As we neared SLO however, the clouds scattered, allowing glimpses of a bluebird sky. The endless rain has been a blessing to all our neighbors, but enough is enough. Time to let the sunshine do its work now, and provide lots of lovely grass for all the cows, sheep, goats, and horses.
The multiple fenced meadows of Rolling A Ranch mark the beginning of Templeton’s rural area. As we passed by, a group of adult horses galloped alongside their babies - literally frolicking - manes and tails flowing. It was a wonderful welcome home.
And speaking of home, Hummingbird Ranch is totally showing off - green and lush with hints of the wildflower explosion that will soon come. Charles is also happy to be here, leaping through the high grass like a nimble gazelle.
Sunshine is promised through the weekend, so visit Hummingbird Rancher on Instagram for a barrage of notes and photos. I’ll leave you with views from my evening walk.

Happiness is green at bluebird...
